Destination Guide

Spain’s islands, including Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Mallorca, Ibiza, Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, offer regular opportunities in hotels, restaurants, tourism, entertainment, transport and customer service. Tenerife has a warm climate, an international population and strong year-round resort employment, although seasonal demand can affect contracts. Island culture combines Spanish traditions, local festivals, relaxed social life and excellent outdoor activities such as beaches, hiking and water sports. Living costs vary; rent is generally highest in major tourist areas. EU, EEA and Swiss citizens can work without a visa but must complete local registration. Non-EU applicants normally need an appropriate work and residence permit arranged with employer support. Before relocating, confirm contract terms, accommodation, transport, tax registration and healthcare access. Spanish is useful for daily life, while English is highly valued in tourism roles.
