Candidates should have experience in guest services, concierge work, reception or hospitality, strong communication skills and a professional, service-focused attitude. Fluency in Spanish and English is normally expected; additional languages are an advantage. The role requires confidence using hotel systems, good organisation, discretion, cultural awareness and the ability to remain calm during busy periods. The successful candidate is expected to represent Club by Meliá professionally, anticipate guest needs, promote hotel services and collaborate effectively with reception, food and beverage and other departments. Flexibility to work shifts, weekends and public holidays is also likely required.
Meliá Hotels International is one of Spain’s largest hotel groups and an established international hospitality company. Founded in Mallorca, the group operates hotels and resorts across Spain and numerous destinations worldwide under brands including Meliá, Gran Meliá, ME by Meliá, INNSiDE and Sol by Meliá. Its properties cover leisure, urban, luxury, extended-stay and all-inclusive travel, with a strong focus on guest experience and personalised service. Club by Meliá provides premium holiday experiences and membership-based services in selected resorts. The company employs people across accommodation, food and beverage, wellness, commercial, technical and corporate functions. Its Tenerife properties serve international holidaymakers and value multilingual staff who can deliver attentive, professional service while reflecting local knowledge and Meliá’s hospitality standards.
Spain’s islands, including Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Mallorca, Lanzarote, Fuerteventura, Ibiza and Menorca, offer substantial employment in hotels, restaurants, tourism, retail, transport, wellness and marine activities. Tenerife has a year-round tourism economy, particularly around Costa Adeje, Playa de las Américas and Puerto de la Cruz. Island life combines warm weather, beaches, volcanic landscapes, outdoor activities and a relaxed social culture, although popular areas can be seasonal and housing may be expensive. Spanish is useful for daily life and administration, while English and German are highly valued in tourism. EU, EEA and Swiss citizens can work with registration and a local identification number. Non-EU applicants generally need an employer-sponsored work permit before starting employment; requirements vary by nationality and contract. New arrivals should arrange accommodation, healthcare access, tax registration and a Spanish bank account, and budget for limited public transport in some resort areas.
