Destination Guide

Spain’s islands, including the Canary Islands and Balearic Islands, offer strong employment opportunities in hotels, restaurants, resorts, tourism, entertainment, maintenance and wellness. Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Mallorca, Ibiza and Lanzarote are especially active, although many positions are seasonal and competition can be high. Island life combines a relaxed outdoor lifestyle with beaches, warm weather and strong local traditions. Tenerife has a multicultural population, volcanic landscapes and good transport links, but housing near major resorts can be expensive and limited. Spanish is useful for daily life, while English and other languages are valuable in tourism. EU, EEA and Swiss citizens can work in Spain with normal registration requirements. Non-EU applicants generally need a valid work and residence permit, and employer sponsorship is not guaranteed. Candidates should confirm accommodation, transport, contract terms, working hours and relocation costs before accepting an offer.
