Destination Guide

Indonesia offers technology and infrastructure opportunities mainly in Java, especially Jakarta and surrounding areas, with growing digital activity in Bali, Batam, and other major cities. Jakarta provides the broadest employment market, international schools, hospitals, transport links, and professional networks, but has heavy traffic and a higher cost of living. Indonesian culture values hospitality, community, respect for elders, and religious diversity; modest dress and sensitivity to local customs are appreciated. Food is varied and affordable, while accommodation costs differ greatly by city. Foreign employees generally need an employer-sponsored work authorization and appropriate limited-stay visa or KITAS; working on a tourist visa is not permitted. Employers usually support sponsorship, immigration paperwork, and relocation details, but requirements can change. Candidates should confirm tax, health insurance, housing, and shift-transport arrangements before accepting an offer.
