Destination Guide

Japan offers strong opportunities in cloud infrastructure, data centers, software, manufacturing technology, finance, and international business. Tokyo has the broadest job market, while Osaka, Nagoya, Fukuoka, and areas supporting data center development offer alternatives. Japanese workplaces value punctuality, teamwork, respect, preparation, and careful communication, though multinational employers often use English in technical roles. Living costs are highest in Tokyo; public transport is excellent, healthcare is reliable, and daily life is generally safe and convenient. Foreign professionals usually need an employer-sponsored work visa, commonly an Engineer/Specialist in Humanities/International Services visa, with eligibility based on qualifications and job duties. Amazon normally supports immigration processes where appropriate, but requirements should be confirmed directly. Relocation planning should cover housing deposits, resident registration, taxation, banking, phone service, and language support. Learning basic Japanese is highly beneficial for daily life and workplace integration.
