Destination Guide

Ireland offers strong opportunities in technology, cloud computing, data centres, telecommunications, pharmaceuticals, finance, engineering, and multinational business services. Dublin is the main employment hub, while Cork, Galway, Limerick, and Waterford also provide growing technology and infrastructure roles. Irish culture is generally friendly, sociable, and community-oriented, with English widely spoken and a strong tradition of music, sport, and hospitality. The lifestyle combines lively cities, historic towns, coastal scenery, and accessible countryside, although housing costs and availability—especially in Dublin—can be challenging. EU, EEA, and Swiss citizens can work in Ireland without an employment permit. Non-EEA candidates normally need an eligible employment permit, often supported by the employer; highly skilled technology roles may qualify for a Critical Skills Employment Permit. Relocating employees should budget for rent, healthcare, transport, taxes, and registration requirements, and arrange accommodation early.
