Destination Guide

Japan offers opportunities in pharmaceuticals, technology, finance, manufacturing, healthcare, education and international business, with Tokyo, Osaka, Yokohama and Kobe serving as major employment centers. Workplaces commonly value punctuality, preparation, teamwork and respectful communication, although multinational companies may operate in a more direct and flexible style. Daily life is safe and convenient, with excellent public transport, reliable healthcare and a wide range of housing, food and cultural activities. Tokyo is highly international but expensive; regional cities can offer a lower cost of living and a quieter lifestyle. Foreign professionals generally need an appropriate work visa, usually sponsored by the employer, and must complete residence registration after arrival. Applicants should verify eligibility, tax obligations, health insurance, pension enrollment and relocation support before accepting an offer. Japanese language skills are helpful for administration and social integration, though many global corporate roles use English.
