The Senior Relationship Manager will manage and grow UOB’s portfolio of clients in the food and beverage, agribusiness, and FMCG sectors in Indonesia. Responsibilities typically include acquiring new customers, strengthening relationships with existing corporate clients, understanding business and financing needs, structuring suitable credit solutions, preparing proposals, monitoring portfolio quality, and coordinating with product and risk teams. Candidates are generally expected to hold a bachelor’s degree, have substantial corporate or commercial banking experience, understand credit analysis and financial statements, and possess strong knowledge of the relevant industries. Excellent communication, negotiation, client-management, and business-development skills are essential, together with sound risk awareness and the ability to meet revenue objectives.
UOB, or United Overseas Bank, is a major Singapore-headquartered banking group with operations across Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, China, Hong Kong, Japan, Australia, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Founded in 1935, the bank provides personal financial services, commercial banking, corporate and institutional banking, investment banking, wealth management, and digital banking solutions. In Indonesia, UOB serves consumers, entrepreneurs, local businesses, and multinational corporations through its branch, relationship-management, and digital channels. The bank is particularly active in supporting regional trade, investment, supply chains, and the growth of businesses operating across Southeast Asia. Its culture generally emphasizes responsible banking, long-term client relationships, risk discipline, teamwork, and regional connectivity. The Jakarta role offers exposure to important Indonesian industries and to UOB’s broader ASEAN network.
Indonesia offers opportunities across its major islands. Java, especially Jakarta, is the main center for banking, finance, corporate headquarters, technology, manufacturing, and professional services. Sumatra has strong activity in commodities, agribusiness, energy, logistics, and plantations. Kalimantan offers opportunities connected with mining, infrastructure, and the developing new capital region, while Sulawesi is important for mining, fisheries, agriculture, and trade. Bali is strongest in tourism, hospitality, property, and digital services. Indonesian culture values respect, community, religious diversity, and relationship-building; learning basic Bahasa Indonesia is highly useful. Jakarta provides extensive amenities but has traffic, humidity, and a high cost of living. Foreign professionals generally need employer sponsorship, a work-authorized stay permit, and appropriate immigration approval before starting employment. Relocating employees should arrange housing, health insurance, tax registration, and document legalization with their employer and Indonesian immigration authorities.
