Destination Guide

Indonesia offers opportunities in banking, technology, manufacturing, tourism, logistics, education, healthcare, and digital commerce. Jakarta, on Java, is the main center for finance and corporate careers; Surabaya and Bandung also have strong business and technology markets. Bali is attractive for tourism, hospitality, creative work, and international lifestyles, while Batam benefits from manufacturing and regional trade. Indonesian culture values respect, community, family, and polite communication, with diverse traditions across more than 17,000 islands. Living costs vary: Jakarta is expensive by local standards, while many cities outside major business centers are more affordable. Foreign employees generally need an employer-sponsored work permit and limited-stay visa, with the company handling much of the process. Research housing, healthcare, transport, taxation, and local regulations before relocating; learning basic Bahasa Indonesia is highly beneficial.
