Destination Guide

Malaysia offers career opportunities in banking, shared services, technology, manufacturing, tourism, healthcare and logistics, especially in Kuala Lumpur, Penang and Johor. Its culture blends Malay, Chinese, Indian and indigenous traditions, with diverse food, festivals and generally welcoming communities. Urban life is convenient and relatively affordable, while islands and coastal areas such as Langkawi, Penang, Redang and the Perhentians provide beaches, diving and a slower lifestyle. Kuala Lumpur suits professionals seeking international employers, transport links and modern amenities; Penang offers a strong technology scene and a more relaxed setting. Foreign employees normally need employer sponsorship for an Employment Pass, with approval subject to immigration and salary requirements. Candidates should confirm visa eligibility, medical coverage, taxation, housing and relocation support before accepting an offer. English is widely used in business, though Malay is the national language.
