Destination Guide

Thailand offers varied opportunities in hotels, resorts, restaurants, wellness, marine activities, property services and tourism, especially in Bangkok, Phuket, Koh Samui, Krabi and Pattaya. Island life is generally relaxed and outdoors-focused, with beaches, water sports, local markets and a strong food culture. Thai culture places importance on politeness, respect for elders, modest behaviour and maintaining harmony. Living costs vary: Phuket and Koh Samui can be expensive in tourist areas, while smaller islands may have fewer services and seasonal employment. Foreign nationals normally need an employer-sponsored Non-Immigrant B visa and work permit before legally working; requirements vary by nationality and role. Employers often assist with documentation, but candidates should confirm terms directly. Relocating involves arranging accommodation, insurance, banking, transportation and appropriate work clothing. Bangkok is not an island, but it provides better transport, healthcare and year-round career options than many island destinations.
