Destination Guide

The Bahamas offers employment opportunities in resorts, hotels, restaurants, marine tourism, construction, healthcare, retail, and professional services. Tourism is the main economic driver, so hospitality workers may find seasonal and year-round roles, particularly on Nassau, Paradise Island, Grand Bahama, and the Exumas. Bahamian culture blends African, Caribbean, and British influences, with strong traditions in music, seafood, festivals, church, and community life. The lifestyle is relaxed and outdoor-focused, with beaches, boating, diving, fishing, and warm weather, although housing and everyday costs can be high. Foreign nationals generally need an employer-sponsored work permit before starting employment; approval is handled through Bahamian authorities and is not automatic. Candidates should confirm accommodation, transportation, medical coverage, taxes, contract terms, and relocation costs with the employer before accepting an offer.
