Destination Guide

Australia offers hospitality opportunities in hotels, resorts, restaurants, tourism and events, particularly in Cairns, Queensland, Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and regional destinations. Cairns has a relaxed, multicultural and outdoors-focused lifestyle, with access to the Great Barrier Reef, rainforests and tropical beaches. Living costs vary, but rent, transport and utilities should be budgeted carefully; Cairns is generally less expensive than Australia’s largest capital cities, though housing availability can fluctuate. Employees usually need valid work rights through an Australian visa, such as a Working Holiday visa, employer-sponsored visa or another eligible pathway. Requirements depend on nationality, age, qualifications and occupation. Before relocating, arrange appropriate health cover, tax and banking details, accommodation and a tax file number. Australian workplaces value punctuality, safety, direct communication and teamwork.
