Destination Guide

Malaysia offers technology opportunities in Kuala Lumpur and Cyberjaya, while Penang is known for electronics and engineering, and Johor supports manufacturing and regional business services. Sabah and Sarawak on Borneo provide a slower pace of life, attractive nature, and smaller but growing professional markets. Malaysian culture is multicultural, with Malay, Chinese, Indian, and indigenous influences, and English is widely used in business. Living costs are generally lower than in Singapore or Western Europe, although central Kuala Lumpur housing can be expensive. The country offers excellent food, beaches, rainforests, and convenient regional travel. Foreign professionals normally require an Employment Pass sponsored by their employer; approval depends on the role, salary, qualifications, and company eligibility. Relocating employees should arrange private healthcare coverage, verify tax obligations, and compare neighborhoods, schools, transport, and healthcare before moving.
