Destination Guide

Malaysia offers varied opportunities in hotel engineering, resort operations, facilities management, tourism, food and beverage and marine-related services, particularly in Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Langkawi, Kota Kinabalu and other resort destinations. Island life can be relaxed and community-oriented, with warm weather, beaches, outdoor activities and a multicultural society influenced by Malay, Chinese, Indian and Indigenous traditions. Costs are usually lower than in many major international cities, although accommodation on popular islands can be expensive. Malaysia provides diverse food, reliable urban services and good regional travel connections. Foreign employees normally require an employment pass sponsored by the hiring company; approval must be obtained before starting work, and requirements depend on nationality, salary and role. Relocating staff should confirm accommodation, healthcare, taxation, transport and dependent-pass arrangements with the employer. Penang and Langkawi suit coastal lifestyles, while Kuala Lumpur offers broader career opportunities and amenities.
