Company Info

Shangri-La Group is a major international hospitality company headquartered in Hong Kong, operating luxury hotels, resorts, residences, and related businesses across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, Africa, North America, and Australia. Its brands are associated with high standards of Asian-inspired hospitality, personalized service, and extensive guest facilities. Shangri-La Hambantota is a large luxury resort on Sri Lanka’s southern coast, set within a coastal and natural environment and offering accommodation, dining, leisure, wellness, and event facilities. Employees can expect a multicultural workplace, structured service standards, and opportunities to work within a globally recognized hotel network.

Destination Guide

Sri Lanka offers opportunities in hotels, resorts, restaurants, tourism, aviation, technology, education, healthcare, and international business. Hospitality work is concentrated in Colombo, the southern coast, the Cultural Triangle, and resort areas such as Hambantota. The culture combines Sinhala, Tamil, Muslim, and colonial influences, with strong traditions of family, religion, festivals, and welcoming visitors. Lifestyle varies from busy urban living to relaxed coastal communities; costs are generally lower than in many Western countries, although imported goods can be expensive. Foreign employees normally need an employer-supported residence or work authorization and should not work on a tourist visa. Confirm current immigration rules, tax obligations, insurance, housing, transport, and schooling before relocating. Hambantota is quieter than Colombo, so travel to larger cities may require planning.
