Workplace culture is generally practical, direct and collaborative, with importance placed on punctuality, customer service, initiative and work-life balance. Lifestyle varies from busy city living to relaxed coastal communities, with beaches, national parks, sport and outdoor activities widely accessible. Living costs can be high in major cities, particularly for rent. International applicants usually need an appropriate work visa, such as an employer-sponsored visa, skilled visa or eligible working holiday visa; requirements depend on nationality, occupation and sponsorship. Candidates should check Australian immigration rules and employer conditions before relocating. Health insurance, tax registration, accommodation and transport planning are also important when moving.
