Destination Guide

Hong Kong offers varied opportunities in hotels, restaurants, retail, logistics, finance, technology and professional services. Hospitality jobs are concentrated in Hong Kong Island, Kowloon, Lantau and major tourist districts, with demand for reliable service and operations staff. The culture is international, fast-paced and respectful of punctuality, efficiency and customer care. Life combines dense urban neighbourhoods, excellent public transport, shopping and dining with hiking trails, beaches and outlying islands. Housing can be expensive, so shared accommodation or living outside central districts is common. Foreign nationals normally need an employment visa sponsored by a Hong Kong employer before starting work; the employer must show a genuine role and suitable conditions. Part-time work rules depend on visa status, and visitors cannot legally work. Relocating applicants should confirm salary, MPF, insurance, accommodation, working hours and visa sponsorship directly with Shangri-La before accepting an offer.
