Destination Guide

Singapore is a modern island city-state with strong opportunities in hospitality, tourism, food and beverage, finance, technology, healthcare, and logistics. Hotel and culinary professionals can find roles in luxury hotels, independent restaurants, clubs, catering companies, and event venues. The culture is multicultural, safe, efficient, and English is widely used at work. Lifestyle options include excellent public transport, diverse cuisine, shopping, parks, museums, and nearby regional travel, although housing and daily expenses can be high. Foreign employees normally require employer-sponsored permission to work, such as an Employment Pass, S Pass, or Work Permit, depending on qualifications, salary, and occupation. Employers generally handle the application, while candidates must meet government eligibility requirements. Relocating staff should budget for rent, deposits, medical insurance, transport, and possible settling-in costs. Singapore’s tropical climate is hot and humid year-round.
