Destination Guide

Malaysia offers opportunities in hotels, resorts, restaurants, tourism, retail, technology and shared services. Popular island destinations include Langkawi, Penang, Tioman, Redang and Pangkor, while Kuala Lumpur and major mainland cities provide broader career options. Malaysian culture is multicultural, with Malay, Chinese, Indian and indigenous influences reflected in food, festivals, language and everyday life. Island living is relaxed and outdoors-oriented, with beaches, diving, nature and a lower cost of living than many international destinations, although transport and healthcare can be more limited. Foreign employees generally need an employer-sponsored Employment Pass, and the company normally manages the application through Malaysian immigration authorities. Candidates should confirm visa eligibility, accommodation, insurance, taxes and relocation support before accepting an offer. English is widely used in hotels, while Malay is the national language.
