Destination Guide

Singapore is a compact, multicultural island city-state with strong opportunities in hospitality, food and beverage, tourism, finance, technology, healthcare, and logistics. English is widely used at work, while Mandarin, Malay, and Tamil are also official languages. The lifestyle is safe, efficient, and convenient, with excellent public transport, modern shopping areas, diverse food markets, and easy access to parks and coastal attractions. Housing can be expensive, so employees should compare shared accommodation, staff housing, and locations near MRT lines. Foreign workers generally need an employer-sponsored work pass, such as an Employment Pass, S Pass, or Work Permit, depending on qualifications, salary, and occupation. The employer normally submits the application, and approval is required before starting work. New arrivals should budget for rent, transport, deposits, insurance, and daily expenses, and confirm contract terms before relocating.
