Destination Guide

Singapore is a compact, highly developed city-state with strong opportunities in hospitality, engineering, facilities management, technology, finance, healthcare, and tourism. Its culture is multicultural, with Chinese, Malay, Indian, and international influences reflected in food, festivals, and daily life. The lifestyle is generally safe, clean, convenient, and fast-paced, with excellent public transport, shopping, dining, parks, and healthcare. Accommodation and living costs can be high, especially near central areas, so shared housing is common for many workers. Foreign employees usually require a valid work pass arranged or supported by an employer; eligibility depends on salary, qualifications, experience, and prevailing government requirements. New arrivals should budget for deposits, transport, insurance, and initial living expenses, and confirm accommodation and pass conditions before relocating. Singapore’s tropical climate is warm and humid year-round, with frequent rain.
