Destination Guide

Indonesia offers varied opportunities for hospitality professionals across Bali, Java, Lombok, Sumatra and other islands. Bali is the most internationally oriented market, with strong demand in luxury resorts, restaurants, wellness and tourism, while Jakarta provides corporate hotels and larger commercial operations. Indonesian culture values courtesy, community, family and respectful communication; English is common in international hotels, though Bahasa Indonesia is useful for daily life. Lifestyle ranges from busy urban living to relaxed beach or rural communities, with generally affordable local food and transport. Employers commonly assist with permits, relocation, accommodation and local registration. Candidates should confirm salary, housing, flights, healthcare, taxes and contract conditions directly with Shangri-La before relocating.
