Destination Guide

Indonesia offers hospitality opportunities across Java, Bali, Sumatra, Sulawesi, and other islands. Jakarta and Surabaya provide strong hotel and restaurant career prospects, while Bali is especially popular for resort, wellness, and tourism jobs. Indonesian workplace culture generally values politeness, teamwork, respect for senior colleagues, and adaptability. Lifestyle varies widely: cities are busy and convenient, while island destinations offer beaches, outdoor activities, and a slower pace. Living costs depend heavily on location, with Bali and central Jakarta often more expensive. Foreign workers normally need employer sponsorship and an appropriate work permit, commonly arranged through the hiring company; working on a tourist visa is not permitted. Candidates should confirm accommodation, transport, medical coverage, taxes, and relocation support before accepting an offer. Learning basic Bahasa Indonesia is highly beneficial, and employees should respect local religious customs, dress expectations, and public holidays.
