Destination Guide

Singapore is a modern island city-state with strong opportunities in hospitality, tourism, restaurants, events, retail and business services. Its culture combines Chinese, Malay, Indian and international influences, reflected in its food, festivals and neighbourhoods. The lifestyle is safe, efficient and highly connected, with excellent public transport, healthcare and a wide range of dining and leisure activities. Accommodation and everyday expenses can be high, particularly in central areas, so candidates should budget carefully and check whether housing or allowances are provided. Foreign employees usually need an employer-sponsored work pass, such as an Employment Pass, S Pass or Work Permit, depending on qualifications, salary and role. The employer normally manages the application. Relocating workers should arrange valid travel documents, accommodation, medical coverage and local banking or tax registration. Singapore’s warm, humid climate makes suitable clothing and adaptation to year-round heat important.
