Destination Guide

Malaysia offers varied opportunities in hotels, resorts, restaurants, finance, tourism, technology, and business services. Penang and Langkawi are especially attractive for hospitality workers, while Kuala Lumpur provides the broadest professional market. Penang combines historic George Town, beaches, excellent food, and a lively expatriate community. Langkawi offers a quieter island lifestyle, outdoor activities, and resort-based employment, although daily expenses and transport can vary by area. Malaysian culture is multicultural, with Malay, Chinese, Indian, and indigenous influences reflected in food, festivals, language, and everyday life. English is widely used in hotels and business settings. Overseas employees normally need an employer-sponsored Employment Pass, and the company must meet immigration requirements before work begins. Candidates should confirm accommodation, medical cover, taxes, transport, contract terms, and relocation costs before accepting an offer. Tourist entry does not permit employment.
