Company Info

Shangri-La is a globally recognised luxury hospitality group founded in Hong Kong, with hotels, resorts and residences across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America and other international markets. The group is known for personalised service, refined accommodation, high-quality dining and comprehensive meetings, events and wellness facilities. Its Philippine properties include major city and resort destinations, serving business travellers, leisure guests, wedding clients and corporate groups. Shangri-La places strong emphasis on warm Asian hospitality, service excellence, professional development and operational standards. Employees generally work in multicultural teams and are expected to provide attentive, polished service while protecting the brand’s reputation. Destination Guide

The Philippines offers hospitality opportunities in Manila, Cebu, Boracay, Palawan, Davao and other island destinations, particularly in hotels, resorts, events, food and beverage, tourism and diving. Manila provides the broadest corporate and luxury-hotel market, while resort locations offer a more relaxed lifestyle but may have higher seasonal demand and fewer urban services. Filipino culture is friendly, family-oriented and community-focused, with English widely used in workplaces. Living costs vary considerably; accommodation and transport are generally more affordable outside central Manila. Foreign nationals usually need an employer-sponsored work permit and appropriate visa, commonly involving Department of Labor and Employment approval and an immigration work visa. Do not begin employment on a tourist status. Employers may assist with documentation, but applicants should verify requirements with Philippine authorities. Prepare for a tropical climate, rainy seasons, traffic in major cities and island travel involving ferries or domestic flights.
