Residents enjoy reliable public transport, clean neighbourhoods, diverse dining, shopping, parks and easy access to regional destinations. Living costs can be high, especially rent, although public transport and local food are comparatively affordable. Foreign employees generally need an employer-sponsored work pass, such as an Employment Pass, S Pass or Work Permit, depending on qualifications, salary and occupation. Employers normally guide successful candidates through the application process. Relocating workers should arrange accommodation, health coverage, banking and tax registration, and check eligibility before travelling.
