Destination Guide

Singapore is a compact, highly connected island city with opportunities in hotels, tourism, aviation, finance, technology, healthcare, retail and education. Its culture is multicultural, shaped by Chinese, Malay, Indian and international communities, with English widely used in workplaces. The lifestyle is safe, efficient and urban, with excellent public transport, diverse food, shopping, parks and convenient access to Southeast Asia. Housing and daily expenses can be relatively high, especially near central districts, so accommodation and benefits should be checked carefully. Foreign employees generally need an employer-sponsored work pass, such as an Employment Pass or S Pass; eligibility depends on salary, qualifications, experience and government requirements. Employers normally manage the application process. New arrivals should arrange suitable housing, healthcare coverage, banking and local registration before starting work.
