Destination Guide

Singapore is a compact, highly developed island city-state with strong opportunities in hospitality, tourism, food and beverage, finance, technology, healthcare and logistics. The culture is multicultural, blending Chinese, Malay, Indian and international influences, with English widely used at work. Lifestyle is convenient and safe, with efficient public transport, excellent healthcare, diverse dining, shopping, parks and vibrant neighbourhoods. Accommodation can be expensive, so employees often share apartments or live farther from the city centre. Foreign workers generally need an employer-sponsored work pass; hospitality roles may use an S Pass or Work Permit, subject to salary, qualification and quota requirements. Employers usually handle the application, while approval is determined by Singapore authorities. New arrivals should budget for rent, transport, deposits, medical checks and daily expenses, and confirm housing, benefits, working hours and visa conditions before relocating.
