Destination Guide

Malaysia offers varied opportunities in hotels, resorts, facilities management, engineering, tourism, and property operations, especially in Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Langkawi, Kota Kinabalu, and Johor. Island life in Langkawi, Penang, or Sabah is generally relaxed, outdoor-oriented, and multicultural, with beaches, diving, hiking, local markets, and excellent food. Costs are usually lower than in Singapore or major Western cities, although resort-island housing and imported goods can be more expensive. English is widely used in hospitality, while Malay is the national language. Foreign employees normally need an employer-sponsored Employment Pass, with approval handled through the company and Malaysian authorities before starting work. Relocation packages may include accommodation, transport, flights, medical cover, or meals, but these vary. Candidates should confirm salary, housing, tax, working hours, and visa responsibility directly with the employer.
