Destination Guide

Singapore is a compact island city-state with strong opportunities in hospitality, tourism, events, finance, technology, healthcare and logistics. The culture is multicultural, with English widely used alongside Mandarin, Malay and Tamil; respect, punctuality and professionalism are highly valued. Life is convenient and safe, with excellent public transport, diverse food, modern shopping areas and easy access to parks and waterfront attractions. Housing can be expensive, particularly in central districts, so many employees choose shared apartments or locations near MRT lines. Foreign professionals generally need an Employment Pass or S Pass arranged by an approved employer; eligibility depends on salary, qualifications and experience, and rules may change. New arrivals should budget for rent, transport, insurance and deposits, verify employment terms carefully, and arrange a valid work pass before starting work.
