Destination Guide

Singapore is a compact island city-state with strong opportunities in hotels, tourism, restaurants, finance, technology, healthcare, logistics, and retail. The culture is multicultural, with English widely used alongside Mandarin, Malay, and Tamil. Life is safe, efficient, and convenient, with excellent public transport, modern healthcare, diverse food, and many shopping and entertainment options. Housing and daily expenses can be high, especially near central areas, so shared accommodation or employer-supported housing may be useful. Singapore is tropical, hot, and humid throughout the year. Foreign employees must secure an employer-sponsored work pass before starting employment; common options include an Employment Pass for qualifying professionals and an S Pass for eligible associate professionals and technicians, subject to government salary, qualification, and quota rules. Relocating candidates should arrange a valid passport, medical checks, housing, banking, and insurance.
