Destination Guide

Hong Kong offers strong opportunities in hospitality, tourism, finance, retail, technology, marketing and international business. Its culture blends Cantonese traditions with global influences, reflected in its food, festivals, architecture and efficient city life. The lifestyle is fast-paced and convenient, with excellent public transport, vibrant dining, shopping, hiking trails and nearby beaches. Housing is expensive, so many newcomers choose shared accommodation or live in areas connected by the MTR. Foreign professionals generally need a valid employment visa sponsored by their employer; applicants typically require a confirmed job and qualifications or experience relevant to the role. Dependants may usually apply for dependant visas. Moving costs, deposits and healthcare arrangements should be planned in advance. Hong Kong is compact, well connected and diverse, although work environments can be demanding and Cantonese is useful for local communication.
