Destination Guide

Singapore is a compact, highly connected island city with strong opportunities in hospitality, tourism, finance, technology, healthcare and logistics. Hotel jobs are concentrated around Orchard Road, Marina Bay, Sentosa and the airport, and experience with international guests is valued. The culture is multicultural, efficient and generally respectful, with English widely used at work. Lifestyle highlights include excellent public transport, safe neighbourhoods, diverse food, shopping, parks and easy regional travel. Housing can be expensive, especially near central areas, so many employees choose locations along MRT lines. Foreign professionals generally need employer-sponsored permission to work, commonly an Employment Pass or S Pass, subject to salary and eligibility requirements. Applicants should confirm current Ministry of Manpower rules, secure a written offer and arrange accommodation, banking, insurance and tax matters before relocating.
