Destination Guide

The UAE is not an island, but it is a federation of emirates with a coastal lifestyle, especially in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Hospitality, tourism, events, aviation, retail and business services offer strong employment opportunities, while MICE professionals benefit from the country’s international exhibitions, conferences and luxury hotel market. Local culture values family, respect, modesty in public settings and hospitality; English is widely used in business, with Arabic useful for broader networking. Lifestyle options range from beaches and water sports to shopping, dining, desert excursions and a lively expatriate community. Most overseas employees need an employer-sponsored residence visa and work permit. Employers commonly arrange medical testing, Emirates ID processing and sometimes accommodation, insurance or flights, depending on the package. Candidates should confirm salary, commission, housing, transport and relocation terms before accepting an offer. Costs are highest in Dubai and central Abu Dhabi.
