Destination Guide

Singapore is a compact, highly developed island city-state with strong opportunities in hospitality, tourism, finance, technology, healthcare, education, and logistics. The culture is multicultural, with Chinese, Malay, Indian, and international influences reflected in its food, festivals, languages, and neighbourhoods. The lifestyle is convenient and safe, with excellent public transport, modern shopping areas, diverse dining, green spaces, and easy access to regional travel. Accommodation and daily expenses can be high, particularly near central districts, so budgeting is important. Foreign employees generally need an employer-sponsored work pass, such as an Employment Pass, S Pass, or Work Permit, depending on qualifications, salary, and sector requirements. The employer normally handles the application through Singapore’s Ministry of Manpower. New arrivals should arrange valid documents, suitable housing, healthcare coverage, and a local bank account.
