Destination Guide

The Philippines offers hospitality and tourism opportunities in Metro Manila, Cebu, Boracay, Palawan, Davao and other resort destinations. Roles are available in hotels, restaurants, revenue management, reservations, events, diving, wellness and guest services, although competition is stronger in major tourist areas. Filipino culture is generally welcoming, family-oriented and community-minded, with English widely used in business and tourism. Lifestyle varies from busy urban living in Manila to a slower beach or provincial pace; costs are usually lower outside central business districts and popular resort islands. Foreign nationals normally need an employer-sponsored Alien Employment Permit and an appropriate work visa, commonly a 9(g) pre-arranged employee visa. Employers usually guide the application process, but requirements can change. Relocating workers should confirm accommodation, transport, healthcare, taxes, contract terms and work-permit sponsorship before accepting an offer. Domestic flights and ferries connect the main islands.
