Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is a federation of modern cities and desert communities rather than an island, with Dubai and Abu Dhabi offering the largest concentration of hotel and restaurant jobs. Opportunities are strongest in luxury hospitality, tourism, catering, retail, aviation, and events. The culture blends Emirati traditions with a highly international population; modest dress, respectful behaviour, and awareness of Islamic customs are important. Lifestyle options range from beaches, malls, fine dining, and nightlife to desert excursions and outdoor activities. Employers commonly sponsor work visas, arrange medical testing and Emirates ID processing, and may provide accommodation, transport, meals, insurance, and annual airfare, depending on the contract. Candidates should receive a written offer before travelling, confirm all benefits, and avoid paying recruitment fees. Living costs can be high, especially in Dubai, although staff housing and tax-free salary packages can improve savings. Public transport is convenient in major cities, while summer temperatures are extremely hot.
