Destination Guide

Singapore is a compact, highly developed island city with strong opportunities in hospitality, tourism, food and beverage, finance, technology, healthcare, and logistics. Its culture combines Chinese, Malay, Indian, and international influences, reflected in its festivals, neighbourhoods, and diverse cuisine. Lifestyle is safe, efficient, and urban, with excellent public transport, shopping, restaurants, parks, and healthcare. Living costs, especially rent, are relatively high, so accommodation and transport should be considered carefully. Foreign employees generally need employer-sponsored permission to work, such as an Employment Pass for qualifying professional roles or an S Pass for eligible skilled positions; approval depends on salary, qualifications, and government requirements. Employers often guide successful candidates through the application process. New arrivals should arrange a valid passport, employment contract, medical checks if required, housing, and local banking before or soon after arrival.
