Destination Guide

Singapore is a compact island city-state with strong opportunities in hospitality, technology, finance, healthcare, logistics and professional services. Its culture combines Chinese, Malay, Indian and Western influences, reflected in its food, festivals and neighbourhoods. Life is safe, efficient and convenient, with excellent public transport, modern healthcare and a wide range of restaurants and entertainment. Housing and schooling can be expensive, especially in central areas, so budgeting is important. Foreign professionals usually require an employer-sponsored work pass, such as an Employment Pass, S Pass or Work Permit, depending on qualifications, salary and occupation. The employer normally handles the application, while dependants may need separate passes. New arrivals should arrange accommodation, banking, insurance and local identification after approval. Singapore’s warm, humid climate and fast-paced urban lifestyle suit people who value convenience and international career exposure.
