Company Info

Shangri-La is a major luxury hospitality group founded in Asia and recognised internationally for its hotels, resorts, residences, and distinctive service culture. The group operates properties across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America, and other destinations, with a strong presence in the Philippines. Shangri-La properties are known for high standards in accommodation, dining, banqueting, wellness, and guest services. The company places emphasis on warm hospitality, professional development, teamwork, and attention to detail. Depending on the property, employees may work in an urban hotel or a resort environment serving international travellers, corporate clients, weddings, and large social events. Destination Guide

The Philippines offers opportunities in hotels, resorts, restaurants, cruises, catering, and tourism, particularly in Metro Manila, Cebu, Boracay, Palawan, and other established destinations. Hospitality work is commonly fast-paced and seasonal, with strong demand for skilled chefs and supervisors. Filipino culture is welcoming, family-oriented, and community-minded, while English is widely used in workplaces. Lifestyle varies from busy city living to relaxed coastal communities; living costs are generally lower outside Manila, although resort islands can be expensive. Foreign nationals normally need an appropriate work permit and visa, usually arranged with employer support, and should not work on a tourist visa. Employees should confirm accommodation, transportation, medical coverage, contract terms, and local registration before relocating. Major islands and destinations are connected by domestic flights and ferries, but travel can be affected by weather. Work permits, taxation, and immigration requirements should be verified with Philippine authorities.
