Destination Guide

Malaysia offers hospitality opportunities in Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Langkawi, Kota Kinabalu, Malacca and other resort destinations. Event, hotel sales, food and beverage, guest services and tourism roles are common, particularly in major cities and island resorts. Malaysian culture is multicultural, with Malay, Chinese, Indian and indigenous influences; English is widely used in hotels and business. Lifestyle varies from fast-paced urban living to relaxed beach or island communities, with generally affordable food and transport. Foreign nationals normally require an employment pass sponsored by the hiring company, and they should confirm eligibility, medical requirements and documentation before relocating. Employers may assist with permits and accommodation, but this differs by property. Candidates should budget for deposits, transport and initial living costs, and check local regulations before accepting an offer.
