Destination Guide

Hong Kong offers strong opportunities in hotels, tourism, property management, retail, finance, technology and professional services. The culture blends Cantonese traditions, international influences, efficient public transport and a fast-paced working style. Employees can enjoy excellent restaurants, shopping, hiking, beaches and vibrant neighbourhoods, although housing and daily expenses can be high. Foreign professionals normally need an employment visa sponsored by a Hong Kong employer; applications usually require a confirmed job, relevant qualifications or experience and proof that the role cannot easily be filled locally. Security positions may also require a Hong Kong Security Personnel Permit and background checks. Hong Kong is compact and well connected, making it possible to live near the hotel or commute from areas such as Kowloon, Hong Kong Island or the New Territories.
