Destination Guide

Hong Kong offers strong opportunities in luxury hotels, retail, floristry, events, restaurants, finance, technology and tourism. Its culture blends Cantonese traditions, international influences, festivals and a fast-paced working style. Daily life is convenient but expensive, with excellent public transport, compact neighbourhoods, diverse food and easy access to hiking trails, beaches and outlying islands. Salaries are commonly quoted monthly, while housing is usually the largest expense. Overseas hires normally need an employment visa sponsored by the employer; applicants must show relevant qualifications, experience and a genuine job offer under Hong Kong’s General Employment Policy. Dependants may generally apply to join approved visa holders. Before relocating, confirm the contract, accommodation costs, medical coverage, tax arrangements and visa sponsorship. Cantonese is widely spoken, while English is commonly used in hotels and international workplaces.
