Destination Guide

Hong Kong offers strong opportunities in hotels, tourism, retail, finance, professional services, technology and international trade. Its culture combines Chinese traditions with global influences, and Cantonese, English and Mandarin are widely used in business and daily life. The lifestyle is energetic, highly connected and convenient, with excellent public transport, diverse dining, shopping, hiking and access to beaches and outlying islands. Housing can be expensive, especially in central districts, although areas such as Kowloon and the New Territories may offer better value. Foreign employees generally need an employment visa sponsored by their employer and must meet qualifications and salary requirements under Hong Kong’s General Employment Policy. Applicants should secure a written offer before relocating, confirm accommodation and benefits, and prepare documentation such as passport, qualifications and employment records.
