Destination Guide

Singapore is a compact island city-state with strong opportunities in hospitality, tourism, finance, technology, healthcare, logistics and education. The culture is multicultural, combining Chinese, Malay, Indian and international influences, with English widely used at work. Lifestyle is convenient and safe, supported by excellent public transport, modern facilities, diverse food and extensive shopping and entertainment. Housing can be expensive, particularly near central areas, so many employees choose locations close to MRT lines outside the city centre. Foreign workers normally require an employer-sponsored work pass; eligibility depends on salary, qualifications, experience and current government requirements. Employers usually guide successful candidates through the application process. New arrivals should budget for accommodation deposits, healthcare, transport and daily expenses, and verify employment terms, relocation support and visa conditions before accepting an offer.
