Destination Guide

Hong Kong offers strong employment opportunities in hotels, restaurants, tourism, retail, finance, technology and professional services. Hospitality work is concentrated around Hong Kong Island, Kowloon, Tsim Sha Tsui, Central, Causeway Bay, the airport and resort areas. The culture is fast-paced, international and respectful of punctuality, while Cantonese is dominant and English is widely used in business and hotels. Public transport is excellent, but accommodation is expensive and living spaces are often small. Workers enjoy diverse food, shopping, hiking, beaches, festivals and vibrant nightlife. Most overseas employees require an appropriate work visa before starting employment; the employer generally supports applications for eligible candidates under Hong Kong employment rules. Applicants should confirm salary, accommodation, working hours, medical coverage and visa sponsorship directly with the hotel. Relocation planning should include a rental deposit, transport costs and proof of qualifications or experience where required.
