Destination Guide

Japan offers strong opportunities in technology, e-commerce, logistics, manufacturing, finance, tourism, and international business, especially around Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, and Fukuoka. Workplace culture values punctuality, teamwork, preparation, respect, and reliability, although multinational companies often use more flexible management styles. Daily life is safe, efficient, and convenient, with excellent public transport, healthcare, food, and cultural attractions. Housing and commuting costs are highest in Tokyo; regional cities can offer a more relaxed and affordable lifestyle. Foreign professionals generally need an appropriate work visa, commonly the Engineer/Specialist in Humanities/International Services status, sponsored by an employer. Senior managers should prepare degree and employment records, arrange housing and tax procedures, and consider language support. Japanese ability is not always essential at global firms, but it significantly improves workplace communication and everyday integration.
