Job Description

The Air Freight Department Manager is responsible for leading DHL’s air-freight operations in Australia, ensuring safe, compliant, efficient and profitable service delivery. Requirements typically include substantial experience in air freight, freight forwarding or logistics management, strong knowledge of aviation and customs regulations, and proven capability managing teams, budgets, customers and operational performance. Candidates are expected to provide visible leadership, develop staff, maintain strong airline and customer relationships, resolve service issues, monitor KPIs, and identify opportunities to improve productivity and revenue. Excellent communication, commercial awareness, analytical ability and familiarity with freight-management systems are important. Experience in a multinational logistics environment and relevant industry training or qualifications would be advantageous.
